In the heart of South Philly’s Indonesian community, Gapura Philadelphia holds a fundraiser for their cultural program and youth trip to Bali. This community celebration is not only a chance to raise funds, but also to promote awareness of the rich cultural traditions and expressions of Indonesia.

The youth take the lead, showcasing traditional dances, regalia, music, and customs during the program - including a mock wedding ceremony!

With a population in the thousands, Philadelphia is home to one of the largest Indonesian communities in the United States. Centered heavily around in South Philly, this vibrant demographic has shaped the neighborhood’s culture, establishing beloved restaurants, businesses, and community organizations like this one.
