Empowering Madres Latinas is a multilingual media campaign uplifting the stories, voices, and organizing power of immigrant mothers in Philadelphia. Through impactful videos, community storytelling, and public art installations, the campaign centers motherhood, migration, and resilience while creating spaces for visibility, healing, and collective action.
Led by filmmaker Gabriela Watson-Burkett, Empowering Madres Latinas is produced in collaboration with Centro Integral de la Mujer Madre Tierra through the 2025 Leeway Media Artists + Activist Residency Program. This campaign serves as the community engagement piece of the upcoming documentary Immigrant Mothers Tell Their Stories.
