Inti Media BIPOC Youth Fellowship Opportunity
About the Fellowship: The Inti Media BIPOC Youth Fellowship supports two emerging reporters, creators, or new media storytellers based in Philadelphia through mentorship, skills development, and byline opportunities on multiple platforms as they report on topics of civic engagement, voter issues, and underrepresented communities.
Fellowship Responsibilities Include:
Writing at least 1 feature article (1000 words) on any topic related to the upcoming Philly election in November
Co-hosting OR co-directing three 15-minute episodes of journalistic podcast segment in the style of Inti Media's Diálogos
Supporting film shoots on-set as a production assistant
Writing OR Editing short-form and long-form video & audio content utilizing Adobe Premiere
Conducting research for social initiatives and media projects
Speaking on camera OR supporting collaborators off-camera
Assisting during screenings, panels, and events as needed
Key Details:
Fellowship term: September 15th, 2026 to December 15th, 2026
Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per week (flexible with class schedules, midterms, and finals) or 90 hours total throughout the fellowship
Compensation: $20/hour
Ideal Candidates Are:
Passionate about new media, independent film, and underrepresented communities
Experience with video editing, film, and/or journalism projects
Strong writing skills and familiarity with social media platforms
Organized, proactive, and communicative
Eager to learn and thrives in a collaborative environment
